Migrate disk (external disk) from hp-ux 11.00 to hp-ux 11.31

hmm…I have experienced in migrated data in external disk in hp platform from server run hp-ux 11.00 to server run hp-ux 11.31. For data migration, I used repx (topio) replication (belongs to NetApp). Problem is came when mounting to new server (hp-ux 11.31) with error “disk image is incompatible with this system”. First, I tried to ask mr. goggle & hp forum, they told me to upgrade FS version to version supported by hp-ux 11.31. For hp-ux 11.11, supported FS version up to 4, hp-ux 11.23 supported from 4 to 6 and hp-ux 11.31 supported from 4 to 6/7. FS version in hp-ux 11.00 is 3, that can not be mount to 11.31. So, I have to upgrade FS version to 4 that supported in 11.31. To do this, I should mount new data to other server (run hp-ux 11.11). Command use for this is “vxupgrade” with option -n
# vxupgrade -n 4 mount_point

Define WWN port external storage & tape at hpux

hmm….long time no updatemy blog. Very very busy and available time to check & update my blog. Everything is fine! Good… I want to share about one command to define WWN port at hp-ux.
# fcmsutil defice_file get remote all
for example, I have two hba card on my server running hp-ux 11.11, /dev/td0 & /dev/td1 (device file). To define wwn port external storage or tape connected to hba card /dev/td0, run this command:
# fcmsutil /dev/td0 get remote all
output from it is below:
# fcmsutil /dev/td0 get remote all
